Do I need planning permission for my new deck?
Garden decking or the creation of other hard surfaces are exempt from planning permission provided that the ground level is not altered or raised by more than 1m.
How much for a consultation and cost estimation?
We are happy to offer a free guideline price based on information you provide us with via email and phone calls. A site visit and accurate quote costs €150.00, this price will be deducted from the total cost of your project if you decide to proceed.

HOw much does a typical deck and Pergola cost?
There really isn't a "typical" deck.
Every customer is unique and will have their own idea or vision for how they want their deck to look.
The cost of the deck/pergola/gazebo will depend upon: design, size, features, access area, existing structure, material, stairs, railing, footings, etc.
We will help you choose exactly the right deck for your budget and maximum outdoor enjoyment.
Composite deck prices can range from €4,000 to €15,000 or more depending on your wishes and budget.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BUILD A DECK?
As per the previous question, the duration of the deck build we depend upon the size, features and design of your deck.
A basic deck will take approximately 1 week. Larger decks with more complex designs, can take 3-4 weeks.

WHAT COSTS MORE, WOOD OR COMPOSITE DECKS? WHY?
Composite deck boards in general cost more than wood products. However, with the 25 year warranty, you will save money in the long run using maintenance free decking as sanding and sealing a wooden deck once a year can be time consuming and costly.
CAN YOU REPAIR MY EXISTING DECK?
We are happy to repair, upgrade or replace your existing deck.
do you offer a warranty?
Yes, we offer a 5 year workmanship warranty on all labour carried out by Scully Custom Decks & Design. Most composite decking companies offer their own warranty on the product; e.g. TREX give a 25 year residential warranty on all their decking material.
